Police ID two who were stabbed trying to calm situation
PHOENIX -- Two men who were fatally stabbed at a Phoenix apartment complex have been identified, police said.
Both Ker Reh, 54, and Ray Ken, 24, were attending a memorial gathering and were stabbed while trying to calm things after an altercation outside the gathering.
The stabbing occurred early Sunday morning at an apartment complex where dozens of people from Burma, also known as Myanma, were gathering to mourn a person's death.
According to Sgt. Steve Martos, a group of five young people who weren't part of the gathering accosted three teenagers entering the complex.
Martos said the teenagers made it into the apartment but that the two men were stabbed when they stepped outside to calm the five young people.
No arrests have been made.
