The Phoenix Zoo welcomed a new member last week: a baby bighorn sheep.
The zoo said the lamb, a female, will be kept by its mother high on the butte in the exhibit until later in the day to protect it from danger. Anyone wanting to see the lamb should try later in the day when its mother brings it down the butte.
The lamb has not been named.
Tuesday is expected to be Phoenix’s last day under 90 degrees for a while, and the year’s first triple-digit temperatures could be here soon.
