Boat propeller cuts off part of man's leg at Lake Havasu

LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. -- Authorities said a California man lost part of a leg in a weekend boating accident on Lake Havasu on the Colorado River in western Arizona.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said 52-year-old Stuart Boeg of Placentia fell into the water while stepping from a boat onto a dock at Lake Havasu City on Saturday.

The sheriff's office said a propeller on the boat cut the leg off at the shin.

Fellow passengers on the boat pulled Boeg back on board and placed a dock line around his leg for a tourniquet.
