Sanchez being arrested.
(Tempe Police Department)
PHOENIX -- A man who pleaded guilty in 2002 to two 2001 sexual assaults and kidnappings in Arizona has been arrested in Florida after 11 years on the run.

According to Tempe police, that department and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Antonio Julio Sanchez in Miami on Wednesday as a result of a cold-case investigation.

The criminal cases stemmed from separate abductions and sexual assaults of women who were drugged in bars. The assaults were videotaped.

A warrant was issued for Sanchez after he pleaded guilty but didn't appear for sentencing in Maricopa County Superior Court in Phoenix.

Tempe police said a co-defendant and cousin, Mazon Diamond, remained at large. He also pleaded guilty but didn't appear for sentencing.
