PHOENIX -- Three dozen people suspected of being in the country illegally are in custody after federal authorities raided a drophouse in Phoenix.

Officials from Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Arizona Department of Public Safety and Phoenix police served a search warrant Wednesday afternoon on at least one house.

Authorities say 36 people were arrested, but their names or nationalities weren't immediately released.

ICE spokeswoman Amber Cargile says the raid was part of an ongoing human smuggling investigation by federal authorities.
