Arizona college student arrested after explosion
PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- A student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in northern Arizona has been arrested in connection with a small explosion in a campus parking lot.
Prescott police say 18-year-old James Guy Levine of White Plains, N.Y., is being held in Yavapai County Jail on suspicion of misconduct involving explosives, endangerment, disruption of an educational facility and marijuana-related offenses.
University security officers say they discovered a burn mark in a parking lot near the school's dormitories after a small explosion was reported about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
School security acted on a tip that Levine allegedly was involved in the incident and a search warrant was served on his dorm room.
Police say suspicious items and evidence were seized that led to an arrest. They didn't immediately know Wednesday if Levine has a lawyer.
