YUMA, Ariz. -- Authorities say three women are dead after a two-vehicle crash in Yuma.

Yuma County Sheriff's officials say all of the dead were in the same car that collided with a pickup truck at a city intersection about 11 a.m. Monday.

Authorities say 29-year-old Melanie Darlene Jose, 55-year-old Harriet Phillips and 33-year-old Leatrice Tourtillott all were pronounced dead at the scene.

They say Jose and Tourtillott were Yuma residents, but Phillips' hometown wasn't immediately available.

The driver of the pickup truck- a 30-year-old Yuma man- suffered minor injuries.

Sheriff's officials say the cause of the accident is under investigation.
