PHOENIX -- Fifty immigrants from all across the world are set to become U.S. citizens at a ceremony in Phoenix.

Tuesday morning's ceremony at All Saints Episcopal Day School will include people who immigrated from Argentina, Burma, Jamaica, Kenya, Uzbekistan and 21 other nations.

Lenora Carnagey from Alberta, Canada has been here for 15 years and looking forward to this day. One of her biggest motivations to becoming a citizen is something many Americans take for granted.

"If I'm here it's important that I vote and become involved in the community," she said.

U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge David Duncan will administer the oath of allegiance as they formally become Americans citizens. The district director for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services also plans to attend and children who attend the day school will be on hand to observe the ceremony.

Luciano Pasqual and his wife are from the Phillipines. They've been working toward this day for almost a decade.

"I'm proud of getting my citizenship after 7 years of having a green card. We have two children. This is a proud moment."
