PHOENIX -- Authorities say a Buckeye company has agreed to pay $9,000 to settle a violation for failing to register the outdoor storage of more than 100 tires.
Arizona Department of Environmental Quality officials announced the settlement Monday with Arlington Land.
ADEQ's solid waste inspections and compliance unit inspected the company's site in May 2010.
Authorities say in addition to Arlington land not registering the tires, ``no smoking'' signs weren't posted at the site and the company also didn't have required fire extinguishers.
A violation notice was issued two months later after another inspection showed the situation hadn't been corrected.
The settlement is subject to court approval.
Officials with Arlington Land didn't immediately return a call Monday for comment on the settlement with ADEQ.
