PHOENIX — A 32-year-old man who police say was shooting up a Phoenix neighborhood following a domestic dispute with his wife has been killed by officers.
Police spokesman Sgt. Tommy Thompson says officers had been called to the home around midnight for a reported suicidal person but found nothing. When they arrived at the home a second time about an hour later, the man began shooting.
The officers and the woman who had been in the home took cover outside as the man continued shooting.
A number of officers fired back. The man was hit and killed.
Thompson says one officer had minor injuries following the shoot-out
Police continued to investigate Saturday. The man's name has not yet been released.
