PHOENIX -- The man whose body was recovered from a hopper at a roofing tile manufacturer has been identified.

Jantu Medrano, 30, was an employee who was reported missing late Thursday.

Authorities were called to the scene Friday morning.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson said part of the body was visible when crews arrived on scene, but it was underneath several tons of sand.

The recovery process took several hours.

According to Thompson, homicide investigators are on the scene but so far there's no indication of foul play.
