SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A small airplane was forced to exercise an emergency landing Thursday at Scottsdale Municipal Airport.
According to ABC15.com, the aircraft was filmed during the belly-first landing at approximately 12:30 p.m. Although the pilot was able to successfully stop the plane without landing gear, that didn’t keep him from making a last request prior to touchdown.
The pilot was heard on the scanner saying, “If I don’t make it, tell my wife I love her,” according to Air15 pilot Roland Rinnerberger.
