PRESCOTT, Ariz. -- Authorities in northern Arizona said a widow has been arrested in the death of her ailing husband.

Prescott police said Cynthia Mueller is being held on a murder charge and felony fraud counts. She denies involvement in the death of 52-year-old David Mueller, who was found Nov. 16 at the couple's home.

A 61-year-old man was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in December at his home in Henderson, Nev. Charles Todd has pleaded not guilty.

Police said David Mueller suffered from a degenerative neuromuscular disease and had been under the care of his wife at the time of this death.

Todd said he and Cynthia Mueller were having an affair and that she asked him to help kill her husband. Police said the two smothered Mueller to death.

Cynthia Mueller denies all the accusations.
