PHOENIX -- A group of Arizona mayors plans to meet with the White House drug policy director for a roundtable discussion Thursday.

The discussion will center on federal and local efforts to stop drug trafficking and ways to make communities safer.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton says there are now twice as many Border Patrol Agents as there were in 2004 and border security has been bolstered but more work needs to be done.

Drug Policy Director Gil Kerlikowske is also scheduled to visit southern Arizona on Friday.
