Arizona murder defendant objects to 'prejudging' of him
YUMA, Ariz. -- A Yuma man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend said he's being unfairly prejudged.
The Yuma Sun reported that Jose Jimenez spoke during a Tuesday court appearance on charges that he murdered 29-year-old Christal Figueroa of Wellton and committed other crimes.
Jimenez said he didn't want people speaking badly about him or being quick to judge him.
According to Jimenez, people talk about him as if he's guilty and that's not true.
Jimenez faces an April 10 preliminary hearing in the killing of Figueroa's body. Her body was found in a citrus grove. She had been shot to death.
