PHOENIX — The defense team for Jodi Arias has filed for a mistrial, citing juror misconduct.
According to court documents, the unidentified Juror 5 made comments to other jurors that may bias the opinion of the other jurors. It was not specified what Juror 5 said.
The documents show that the comments were made on March 28, the same day that prosecutor Juan Martinez was accused of signing autographs and posing for pictures outside of the courthouse.
Should the motion fail, Arias’ defense offered the alternative to remove Juror 5 from proceedings.
