Police charge Arizona woman in killing of friend

YUMA, Ariz. -- A 24-year-old Yuma woman is accused of first-degree murder in the killing of a woman whose dead body was recently found in a citrus grove.

Yuma police arrested Brandi Michalski Tuesday in the killing of 29-year-old Christal Figueroa of Wellton. According to police, the two were friends until recently.

Sgt. Leanne Worthen said police are still seeking three men for questioning in the case.

Included among the three men is 30-year-old Jose Jimenez, who is named in a Yuma County warrant for aggravated assault and unlawful flight in another case.

Police said Michalski was one of several people who were involved in a March hit-and-run accident. Weapons were also found dumped in the area.
