PHOENIX -- A man sought in the fatal strangulation and beating of his wife in Indiana has been arrested at a homeless shelter in downtown Phoenix.

The U.S. Marshals Service said 45-year-old Troy Shawn Meyers was arrested without incident Monday, three days after a warrant for his arrest was issued in Indiana.

According to the Marshals Service, Meyers is wanted by the Lake County Sheriff's Office in the September 2012 killing of Shannon Meyers.

The Marshals Service said marshals in Indiana learned that Meyers had fled that state and was believed to be living in the Phoenix area.
