TUCSON, Ariz. — A three-day operation led by the U.S. Marshals Service in southern Arizona has netted more than three dozen arrests.

Federal authorities say Operation Southern Star II targeted fugitives with outstanding felony warrants that had been issued in Graham and Cochise counties. The warrants included offenses for violent crimes and drug violations.

A handful of fugitives were also arrested in Pima and Maricopa counties as a result.

More than 10 law enforcement agencies teamed up to make the arrests, including the Cochise County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff Mark Dannels says those suspected of breaking the law should never feel confident that they won't be captured. He says 16 of the arrests made this week were in Cochise County.
