TUCSON, Ariz. — A red-flag warning is in effect for southeastern Arizona this weekend.
The National Weather Service says dry conditions coupled with high winds mean any fires that start have the potential for rapid growth and spread.
Sustained winds of 20-to-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are predicted Saturday with humidity readings as low as 10 percent.
The warning covers Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and Santa Cruz counties and a big swath of eastern Pima County including Tucson through Saturday evening.
