Thursday afternoon, the Gilbert Police Department received a call about an attempted child abduction.

The incident took place at an apartment complex on the 2000 block of W. San Angelo, where a masked person attempted to grab the arm of a young child while a group of children were outside playing.

Police haven't ruled whether or not an actual attempt took place, as the only description of the suspicious person came from the children involved. They told police the person was wearing a black shirt, a black mask and red pants.

The police have no leads and no other witnesses have yet to identify any suspects who might fit the description.

If anyone has any information regarding the incident, they can reach the Gilbert Police Department at (480)-503-6500.
