PHOENIX -- Members of Arizona Advocacy Network gathered at the State Capitol Tuesday to "Stop the War on Voters."

According to organizers, the 'War on Voters' is in reference to a series of bills targeted at making voting more difficult and inaccessible. These bills also increase campaign finance limits to squeeze out the average Arizonan from the political process.

"I fought hard to be in this country and to have access to the democratic process," Carmen Cornejo said. "To have my voice stifled by big campaign contributions is not right, said small business owner."

Participants in Tuesday's event expressed disdain for money influence in politics and their support for strengthening clean elections.

A government of, for, and by the people
Between non citizens voting, people voting mutiple times, dead people voting, union coersion, pandering, and big money buying influence, political corruption (etc.) the American people don't have much say in the direction of this nation. It is high time we take this nation back.

that makes voting more difficult and inaccessible . . To whom? Oh, you mean more difficult and inaccessible to imposters and anarchists? Funny how sales and marketing can be so devious.

    Republican voter suppression efforts
continue apace. The transparent efforts of our current legislature to through obstacles in the way of Democrating leaning voters is plain for all to see. Anyone who truly believes in the sanctity of the vote will protest this heavyhandedness. It will ultimately cost Republicans in the long run as those who are targeted by Republican underhandedness cast their votes anyway.

Micho, why is this unfair to "Democrat" voters? (I get it, "democrat" is your code word for "illegal immagrants") Is it harder for Demoncrat to obtain an ID than a Republican? No, it is not! When you go to get a drivers liscense, you are not required to tell them who you voted for. So how does it make it more difficult for one party over another? These laws don't discriminate against any one CITIZEN or party, they effect ALL parties the same. Why is so hard to understand that if you want to vote in this country you better be a citizen and be able to prove it.

I already had to show ID...
... to get a voter card. The voter card should therefore be the ONLY thing I show at the polls. If the voter card is too easy to fake, make it harder to get a voter card. I don't live in a police state.

    Voter cards...
Do not have your picture on it. So now, you have to prove you are the person listed on the card. I agree with you Bison, they should change the voter card so that a persons identity can be determined by it. The way it stands now, someone could steal your voter card and pretend to be you at the polls. Or use a dead persons card to vote. (Yes, it has happened. Even the dead voted for Nobama)

    The point is...
To my original point, it does not discriminate against one group over another. Everyone has to play by the same rules so playing the "victim" card just doesn't work here. Its just as easy for a Democrat to get an ID as it is for a Republican. BTW, we have been living in a Police State since 9/11. Its only going to get worse...
