A former Mesa police sergeant was arrested Thursday on suspicion of being in possession of child pornography.
Russell Dean Millsaps, 66, was arrested in the 900 block of E. Fairfield.
"We're certainly trying to explore what children -- if any children -- are involved, what their relationship might be, so we are contacting with any of those possibilities," said Mesa Police Sgt. Tony Landata.
The arrest was conducted in cooperation with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security.
Millsaps retired in 1995.
