PHOENIX -- A man was shot and arrested by authorities Thursday morning after a car chase in the San Tan Valley.
Department of Public Safety officers were following a Ford pickup truck from a convenience store about 7 a.m. The vehicle was believed to have been stolen and the driver was suspected of having a weapon.
When officers attempted to arrest the driver near U.S. 60 at Ironwood Drive, he fired at them. He was shot during return fire and taken to a local hospital.
Neither the suspect's name nor his condition have been released.
