MESA, Ariz. -- Authorities in Mesa are investigating the detonation of a homemade bomb at a city park.

Mesa police say the bomb went off about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at Candlelight Park.

Officers responded to a report of an explosion and found a detonated homemade explosive device.

Police say the device was covered in electrical tape and constructed in the shape of a pipe bomb.

They say no injuries were reported and no structures were damaged in the explosion.

    We should probably consider banning pipes
    not only can they be used to make bombs, but also two pieces can be put together to look like a gun. One ban, double bonus, a liberals wet dream.

    I mean yrreta. We should have a national registry and background checks to buy pipes. And limit the length and diameter of the pipe too. That will stop this from ever happening again. No one will ever sell their pipes to other people unless they go through a pipe dealer.
