PHOENIX -- A group has launched a recall effort targeting Arizona House minority leader Chad Campbell.

A filing with the Arizona Secretary of State's office Tuesday by the group called Fire Representative Chad Campbell launched an official signature gathering effort. The group has until July 10 to collect more than 23,000 signatures. If it is successful, a recall election will then be called.

Campbell is one of the most visible Democrats in the state and has been considering a run for governor. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2006.

The filing of a recall committee doesn't means the group has the ability politically to gather enough signatures.

Another group is collecting signatures in an effort to recall Republican Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

    Although no reason is stated,
I suspect this recall effort would gather more signatures than the one for recalling Arpaio.

Lazy "journalist" at it's best !
Health professionals are required to have a certain amount of hours on Continueing Educations to advance their knowledges and refresh what they'd learned. Maybe KTAR journalist should have one too, starting with the basic as far as reporting ... "who, what, where, when, and most importantly ... wait for it ... WHY?"

Please stop acting like cry baby liberals* who don't get their way and resort to this. We reap what we sow, deal with it until the elected official can be voted out, that's the American Way, not the socialist cry baby liberal way*! *Sorry if I offended any cry baby liberals or socialists by my name calling.

    Thanks for clarifying Steve...
...but I think most people, even in a relatively conservative like Arizona, aren't as willing to march in lockstep with their political party as you and the other frequent posters here. Just ask Russell Pearce (or Evan Mecham if you have a Ouija board.)

    Another laughable Tea Party lurch.
Like the vaunted, but never filed Mary Rose Wilcox recall, the effort against Campbell will recede into the mist.
