TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities say a man is dead after a hit-and-run accident in Catalina, outside of Tucson.

Pima County Sheriff's officials identify the victim as 22-year-old Jacob Lee Wyckoff.

Deputies responded to a report of a man down on a Catalina street about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday and found Wyckoff lying on the dirt shoulder against a fence.

Investigators say evidence shows Wyckoff had apparently been struck by a vehicle.

Authorities later located the vehicle believed involved in the accident and arrested 24-year-old Andrew R. Perez.

They say Perez has been booked into the county's Adult Detention Center on suspicion of leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Investigators say the ingestion of prescription medication may have been a factor in the accident.

Authorities didn't immediately know Tuesday if Perez had an attorney.
