TUCSON -- Authorities say they've arrested two Tucson men who are accused of flashing a laser pointer at a commercial airplane and a Pima County Sheriff's Department aircraft.

The Arizona Daily Star reports (http://bit.ly/16iAM35) that 23-year-old Jack Downey and 22-year-old Daniel Pribula face charges of endangerment in the March 5 incident

Sheriff's spokeswoman Renee Carlson says a commercial airline had reported being the target of a green laser pointer and that a sheriff's aircraft that happened to be in the area tried to track down the source of the laser.

She says the laser also was pointed at the sheriff's aircraft.

The crew of the sheriff's aircraft was able to pinpoint the spot where the laser was flashing and directed officers on the ground to the location.

    Arm the aircraft
with laser guided paint bombs. Anyone found on the ground with fluorescent orange paint is likely the guilty party.
