PAGE, Ariz. (AP) — A Coconino County sheriff's deputy has been cited for hitting a pedestrian.

The Arizona Daily Sun reports that the incident happened last month in Page as a 61-year-old woman was crossing Lake Powell Blvd. in the crosswalk.

Police records show the deputy was waiting at a red light to turn left. When the light turned green, the deputy began driving and hit the woman. She was not significantly hurt.

The deputy was cited for failure to exercise due care.

Sheriff's officials say a decision on any potential disciplinary action is pending.
