Mesa man accused of sending explicit photo to teen
TEMPE, Ariz. -- A Mesa man is in custody for allegedly sending an explicit photo to a 16-year-old girl online.
Tempe police say 22-year-old Joshua Vehmeier was arrested Wednesday at his Mesa home.
He's been booked into jail on suspicion of sexual exploitation of a minor and furnishing harmful items to a minor.
Police say Vehmeier allegedly contacted the girl Feb. 22 in response to an ad she posted on Craigslist advertising baby-sitting services.
They say Vehmeier sent the explicit photo during their email exchange.
Detectives learned through their investigation that Vehmeier knew the girl was a minor when he sent the photo.
Police served a search warrant at his home, where they seized his computer and other electronics.
They say a preliminary search of the computer uncovered several images of child pornography.
