The tip in question is shown. (Reddit Photo)

A less-than-one percent tip has provoked the rage of the Internet.

According to Guyism.com, after ordering almost $1,500 worth of pizza, a customer left a $10 tip.

A picture of the receipt was posted to Reddit and came with a bombardment of diverse replies.

While many commenters slandered the frugal tipper, others highlighted how questionable the situation is, explaining that when a massive amount of pizza is ordered the customer normally gets an extreme discount and that the tip for the order was approved over the phone, therefore the company was aware of the situation and most likely contracted for a deliver fee to be included in the bill.

    What a Whiner
It's not like the delivery person, waiter/waitress had to do a whole lot more work for that many pizzas. If I ordered a steak or a cheeseburger, for example, the waiter/waitress walks the same distance, and carries the same plate. If he/she doesn't like the job, I'm sure there is another who is not an ungrateful snob waiting in line.

    Our whole "tip" system
wouldn't even exist if employers would pay their employees a decent wage. Tipping was originally suppose to be a simple gesture of good will, a token of gratitude (hence the term "Gratuity") provided by the guests whom received excellent service. Now, our society has made it almost a mandatory tax to supplement the meager income of these poor folks. Tips should be welcome, not expected.

    The truth about pizza delivery
Don't like tipping, go get your own pizza. Educate yourself. Drivers put wear and tear on their own cars risking robbery, accidents, and the loss of car insurance (personal policies forbid pizza delivery, commercial policies won't cover drivers either). Why did I do it for 7 years? I was good at it and made about $20/hr, worked with fun people, and met interesting customers. People like you who think that working for tips isn't "real work" are thankfully in the minority. Better get used to the sight... in this economy, pizza is about as good as it's going to get for people.

    Not enough information...
in this story. Did the customer call it in and then pick it up him/herself? a delivery this size was NOT done in a personal car so take that off the table, the pizza business most likely catered the event and it was more than just pizza. (a flat rate per person attending INCLUDING GRATUITY and additional tips may have been given at the event or not at all. posting this is a poor business decission as if it were me I would never buy from them again and the mark up on pizza is pretty good.

    Wow Albatross
It must be nice not to have to really work for your money. There is a lot more to the Service Industry, than you know. Just read the comments of "greatbison".
