Two San Tan Valley students have been suspended Wednesday after discovery of a “hit list” that contained the names of nine teachers and students.
The girls, one an eighth-grader at Walker Butte School and the other a 10th-grader at Poston Butte High School, had posted the list to Instagram, along with an icon of a gun, said a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
The girls, both cheerleaders, told deputies they weren’t going to hurt anyone, that the list was meant only to name people they didn’t like.
A parent of one of the students on the list had contacted authorities.
The girls could face charges of threatening and intimidating.
