PHOENIX — The City of Glendale held an informal session with
city staff and economic leaders Tuesday to further study the potential relocation of the Arizona Cardinals’ training camp to Glendale.
The move from Flagstaff appears to be a near certainty.
Nothing has been finalized but according to Glendale’s website, the Cardinals would use University of Phoenix Stadium and the youth sports fields for camp. The team would build a practice bubble structure much like Arizona State University’s structure.
Glendale said training camp could have an economic impact of $15 million and 200 jobs this summer. The city will see more than a half million dollars in revenue from fan spending, hotels, restaurants, etc.
