With the introduction of new social media apps and websites, Facebook is losing teenager users.
According to the Daily Mail, Facebook’s younger users are moving on to Instagram, Tumblr and Snapchat, apps that require more engagement than Facebook.
15-year-old Coll Wisniewski commented.
‘Tumblr is mainly my obsession as of now,’ said 15-year-old Collin Wisniewski……’It just seems more intimate and its not really a place of bragging, but more of a place of sharing.’
This realization has even caused Facebook Director of Product Blake Ross to leave the company.
‘I’m leaving because a Forbes writer asked his son’s best friend Todd if Facebook was still cool and the friend said no, and plus none of HIS friends think so.’
Though Facebook may be losing popularity, it is still the most-used mobile app as it also owns one of its competitors, Instagram.
