PHOENIX -- A 41-year-old woman who was injured in a weekend hit-and-run died early Monday morning.

Phoenix Police were searching for the driver.

According to Phoenix Police Department, at around 5 p.m. Sunday the unidentified victim was walking east near 11th Street and Northern Avenue when a vehicle jumped the curb and hit her.

The driver headed toward 12th Street without stopping.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s with short hair. He was driving a late model 1970s red Fiat convertible with a black top.

There should be extensive damage to the passenger side window of the car, police said.
