Man arrested in connection to Tucson bar fight
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A man is in custody in connection with the assault of three people outside a Tucson bar last month.
Pima County Sheriff's officials said Friday that 31-year-old Michael Thomas Russ has been booked into jail on suspicion of three counts of aggravated assault.
A fight occurred Feb. 17 outside the Outlaw Saloon after a 45-year-old woman, her 21-year-old son and a 40-year-old friend left the bar about 2:40 am.
The three stopped to smoke on their way to the parking lot. Authorities say a group came out of the bar, approached the trio and made antagonistic remarks directed at the woman's son.
Witnesses say the taunting continued and escalated into a fight.
Authorities say 10 people were involved in the assault and Russ was the first arrest in the case.
