Sheriff Joe Arpaio sustains broken shoulder after fall

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio sustained a broken left shoulder on Thursday after he fell.

According to a statement, Arpaio was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was in good spirits.

Arpaio joked with the emergency staff about being happy the injury was to his left arm not his right as he needs his right arm for his Smith and Wesson and his Smith Corona!

Arpaio will take a few days off to recover. No surgery is needed.
