We've heard of having a bad dog, but this is ridiculous.

According to Highlands Today, a man, 35-year-old Gary Dale Lanier, was driving his truck when his dog stepped on a handgun, setting it off and striking Lanier in the leg.

Sebring police ruled the shooting accidental, and apparently the victim was not seriously injured.

Sebring Police Cmdr. Steve Carr said police did not arrest the dog or detain the animal, pending the investigation. He said he has never heard of a case like this.

Lanier believed the gun was unloaded.

    Proving once again
that you just can't fix or outlaw stupid. A gun lying loose in his truck, un-holstered. What could possibly go wrong? Oh yeah - that. The dog may have been the smart one.
