PHOENIX -- Authorities have arrested a man suspected of driving impaired, fleeing a traffic stop and dragging a Phoenix police officer for several blocks.
Phoenix police say 31-year-old Hayden Daughters is being held on suspicion of failure to stop for police, aggravated DUI, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and unlawful flight.
They say two officers stopped Daughters at about 12:30 a.m. last Sunday.
As they were conducting a DUI investigation, police say Daughters re-entered his vehicle and drove away.
One of the officers held onto the driver and reportedly was dragged for several blocks until the vehicle collided with a parked car, a fence and a tree.
Daughters and the officer were ejected from the vehicle during the collision.
The unidentified policeman was treated for his injuries at a hospital and later released.
