TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson man who shot and wounded a dog walker in 2010 has pleaded guilty except insane to two counts of aggravated assault.

Pima County prosecutors said Wednesday that 35-year-old Ronald Michael Motisko will be sentenced March 14.

They say Motisko's plea agreement stipulates he'll be committed to the jurisdiction of the Arizona State Psychiatric Review Board for 7 1/2 years and be sent to the state hospital in Phoenix.

But if the board decides Motisko no longer requires treatment and is no longer a danger, it could send him to prison or release him from custody.

The Arizona Daily Star says if released, Motisko would remain under the jurisdiction of the board for the remainder of his sentence and could be taken back into custody at any time.
