Mellow Mushroom announces Ahwatukee expansion

Mellow Mushroom, the pizza and beer chain, will soon expand with a new store in Ahwatukee.
According to Phoenix Business Journal the new location will be in the Ahwatukee Foothills Towne Center at the old Rock Bottom Brewery site.
Also in the same general area is a Best Buy, Ross and an AMC multiplex movie theater.
“We like to be near movie theaters,” Jay Beskin, who has exclusive franchise rights to Maricopa County having opened three Mellow Mushrooms since 2009, told the Phoenix Business Journal.
Construction will begin on April 1, with a four-month build schedule with a capital outlay of between $1.6 million and $1.7 million.
With its opening, the restaurant will be looking to hire 80 to 90 workers.
