PHOENIX -- A new report shows that Arizona's economy benefits by more than $1 billion from research at the state's public universities.

The Arizona Board of Regents recently released its research report that covers 2012. It details the economic impact of research at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and the University of Arizona.

Board chairman Rick Meyers said the research leads to inventions, patents and start-up companies that fuel the private sector and create jobs.

Examples of ongoing research include a technique to detect bone loss, the science of placebos and the discovery of new treatments for disease.

    Show us the proof!
What is ASU share of the patents? How many start-ups from the research located in Arizona? How much did it cost us for that research?

Lies, damned lies, and Board of Regent statistics
Anything to keep sucking public money to keep building their empires. ASU's Crow is their master, and he commands the Board of Regents to obey. Oh, and give him another $250,000 raise. He's barely making a million each year, which is not enough for someone with an ego that size.
