A poll released on Wednesday indicates a high percentage of Americans feel illegal immigrants should be deported.

According to Yahoo News, over half of the U.S. citizens polled in a Reuters/Ipsos survey said that illegal immigrants should leave the U.S. and 23 percent polled in favor of deporting all illegal immigrants. Another 30 percent agreed on the side of deportation excluding a small minority.

Conversely, 5 percent said all illegal immigrants should be permitted to stay in America pending legal approval, while 31 percent believed all illegal immigrants should stay regardless. The poll surveyed 1,443 U.S. citizens over 18-years-old from Friday through Tuesday.

Ipsos pollster Julia Clark said the poll results mirror a number of other past surveys proposing the majority of Americans have not changed their position on the nation's illegal immigration dispute.

"It's not Americans' views that are shifting. It is that the political climate is ripe for this discussion," after the November election when Hispanics voted overwhelmingly in favor of Democratic President Barack Obama, she said.

"Democrats feel that the time is right to capitalize on their wins and Republicans feel that they had a bad blow and are eager to reach out to Hispanics," she added.

This issue has directly resonated between both political parties. The illegal immigration debate has essentially resulted in utter division through Democrats and Republicans respectively, according to an alternative Reuters/Ipsos survey.

This particular poll showed that 75 percent of Republicans feel that all or a vast majority of illegal immigrants should face deportation. On the other hand, only 40 percent of Democrats agree that illegal immigrants should be deported.

There was a story at the beginning of the year
Saying the complete opposite of this one. Wish the media would stop trying to influence the people and stick to being impartial.

    The Liberal news machine
will have you believe that people don't want illegal aliens deported. I've met few if any that would like them to stay. When someone hears facts and are given the chance to respond, this article is the most likely conclusion to what people are thinking.

    could happen
Allowing people to freely cross our borders will lead to major issues. It is so simple for terrorist to partner with the drug cartels to enter Mexico and walk right into the USA. Then as they become US Citizens as Obama wants they run for President and 60 yrs from now our country/government is run by terrorist.

Should we accept the will of the people

That's easy for you to say Micho,
because it doesn't support your thoughts and claims. Come on Micho, impress us with some cut and paste information that blows this away. My bet is, you got nothing. History has proven that the American public along with the media, grows tired of issues quickly. Before long, this, as well as gun control will be a distant memory, as the attention of the American public is lost, much in the same way a cat loses focus when a bird flies by. The constant drone of the immigrant whiner is being tuned out.

The poll is flawed. Its methods are questionable.
Its results can not be trusted.

And yet Micho has no facts to
back up the claim of a flawed poll. Micho, you're an epic failure today, I'm not impressed, thought for sure you'd pull something out of your arse to back you up. Shame, such a dis-appointment. I was looking forward to a good laugh.
