Man rams Arizona officer's parked car in rest area
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- Authorities said a man is being held on drunken driving and other charges after his car rear-ended an Arizona Department of Public Safety officer's parked car.
A DPS spokesman said the officer's car was parked in a closed and barricaded rest area on Interstate 40 near Flagstaff Tuesday.
The Arizona Daily Sun reported that the officer suffered minor injuries but was able to pursue the other car when it drove off.
The DPS spokesman said Officer Victor Liebe arrested 47-year-old Stanley Yazzie when Yazzie had to stop at a railroad crossing because of a passing train.
Yazzie is jailed in Flagstaff on charges of DUI, aggravated assault, criminal damage and leaving the scene of an injury accident.
There was no immediate indication that Yazzie has a lawyer.
