TUCSON -- U.S. biologists said they have found a new species of scorpion that lives in close proximity to Tucson.

According to United Press International the new species name is Vaejovis brysoni and was found in the Santa Catalina Mountains over looking the city.

Over the past six years, the number of Arizona mountain scorpion species has more than doubled. Originally, there was only thought to be four mountain scorpion species for the past 50 years.

"This latest new scorpion is a prime example of the amazing diversity of life still to be discovered, right here in 21st century America," Richard F. Ayrey, one of the co-author of the Zookeys article, said.,
