PHOENIX -- Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will be in southern Arizona Tuesday to tour the border. Napolitano recently declared the border is as safe as it has ever been. Patrick Bray with the Arizona Cattlemen's Association said ranchers will tell you that just isn't so.

Dangerous drug and human smugglers have been able to elude ground sensors and cameras.

"They know when the cameras are operating and where they're at," Bray said.

Bray also noted that barbed wire fence is all that separates Arizona ranches from dangerous smugglers on much of the border. He's calling for more boots on the ground to protect ranchers.

"The people moving the drugs are animals," said Bray. "They have no regard for human life or the law. Since last February one rancher has had 17 drive-through's on his property, where the smugglers cut the fence and drive a vehicle through and make it to the highway.

Bray said Napolitano is playing politics and not looking at the safety of people who live and work along the border.

"She was the Governor of Arizona and for her to throw this state under the bus is a shame," said Bray. "We stand by having border security first."

There's a reason those two things are legal and it's because of what we see now. As bad as alcoholism our government realized long ago that they were spending more money fighting it when it wasn't worth fighting. Church imposed "morals" weren't a good enough reason. Much as with MJ. You're kids will be exposed to it regardless, your job as a parent is to ensure they make the right choice, as with Cigs and beer. This failed war of ours on drugs has quite literally destroyed this country.

"The budget for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which handles interior enforcement and detention, has increased by 87 percent since 2005, to nearly $6 billion, according to the report. The number of foreigners the agency detains annually increased to 429,247 in 2011. In December, the agency announced it had deported 410,000 foreigners in 2012, giving Mr. Obama the record for the highest number of removals during his term."

Really Micho? Nothing in your comment matters after you said that.

Legalizing MJ and provide a path to citizenship for the illegals, but a fair way to the rest of the immigrants that have come here legally. And hey, if they are citizens, guess who gets to be taxed like the rest of us. That should help the government's debt! While we do that, cut off the border from the illegal activist that go on there daily. Protect our citizens, something that the Federal government hasn't had an interested in for years and years.

    Competition for scarce law enforcement
resources can be intense. Ranchers find themselves in circumstances similar to at risk urban dwellers. Example: In Maricopa County, the parents of child rape victims complained that nothing was being done to find the child rape perpetrators, and in fact, they were correct. Law enforcement resources at the County level were being redirected away from child rape investigation to illegal cleaning lady roundups. Strangely, this met with the approval of most County residents. In comparison, ranchers find the bulk of federal law enforcement resources directed towards their concerns.

Ranchers and CBP agents will tell
you that indeed, Napolitano and this administration are blatantly ignoring reality on the border. The obvious lack of action on Obama's watch are felt at the border.

    Self-Deportation
Do what Mexico does. Seize their bank accounts, homes, vehicles and all property and rigidly enforce employer sanctions and deny public benefits. The illegals will deport themselves when they are unable to work, get an education, welfare or make a living. Sounds harsh? Well, its good enough for the Mexicans to do exactly the same to illegal immigrants there.

We have similar laws, but they are not enforced. An excellent deterrent would be to actually do what we're supposed to...enforce the laws.

What do you expect she is drinking from the same punch bowl as most others in Washington. This is the new voter base you can't offend them. If she acknowledged that the border was not secure that would mean that O'Bummers policies are failing.
