PHOENIX -- Gov. Jan Brewer is marking Arizona's 101st birthday with two events Thursday at the Capitol.

In the morning, the governor plans to unveil a privately commissioned bronze statue of miner George Warren, whose image appears on the state's official seal.

In the evening, Brewer will turn on permanent lighting for the Capitol's copper dome and the Winged Victory figure atop the dome.

The governor's office said there will be a brief fireworks display after the lighting.
