Univ. of Arizona upgrades interim official to permanent
TUCSON, Ariz. -- University of Arizona Provost Andrew Comrie is getting a hefty pay raise now that President Ann Weaver Hart has appointed him to permanently fill the university's No. 2 administrative post.
The
Comrie is a climatologist who has been a professor and administrator at the university for 20 years.
In Hart's announcement of the permanent appointment she said Comrie exemplified the qualities of "innovation, discipline, creativity and a spirit of partnership and collaboration."
Comrie has served as provost on an interim basis since last August.
