While working on the Mesa Drive and Southern Avenue improvements project, a contractor damaged a Century Link telephone line Thursday afternoon.
In a statement released shortly after the incident, Century Link said that approximately 2,000 homes and businesses have been affected.
Crews are currently working to repair the damage and service should be completely restored to all residents and businesses by Friday afternoon.
