listen Listen: Lunch with Jerry Weiers, Mayor of Glendale
The Mayor of Glendale joined us for Lunch and discussed his life as well as the possible future of the Phoenix Coyotes.

The future of the Phoenix Coyotes is still up in the air, as a deal with potential owner Greg Jamison fell through last week.

Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers said he would like the team to stay in Glendale, but only if a good deal is to be had.

"There's a lot of excitement and some possibilities," he told News/Talk 92.3 KTAR's Karie & Chuck. "We could end up with the Coyotes playing here, but I think we can do it at a cost that's going to be far less than the previous contract. I'm not going to keep hockey at any cost. We're going to keep hockey when it makes sense."

Weiers said he has received calls from other potential buyers, but would not name them. He added that Jamison is still allowed to put forth a new offer.

    Glendale doesn't deserve the Coyotes
I am sooo sick of this fiasco. Too often has this deal fallen apart. I blame the City of Glendale and their greed as well as the Goldwater Institute. I say let the Coyotes leave and let Glendale deal with a Westgate and and Jobbing.com arena as they create a loss of revenue and a loss in jobs. way to go Mayor Jerry Weiers! You are succeeding in destroying your local economy. Good luck on your next election!

Move the team back into United Airways Center. We would all be better off with the restricted view seats than dealing with Glendale, and then work out a way to somehow remodel to accomodate hockey. That barn could use a rennovation anyways. I'm amazed and thankful that Bettman is still for keeping the team here, despite the City of Glendale doing everything that they could do to run them off.
